An Old Man Making Traditional Shoes (Giveh)

Posted by Soodabeh (Yazd, Iran) on 1 January 2007 in People & Portrait and Portfolio.

Giveh is traditional shoe. It is made of cotton ribes woven by women and is a comfortable sho for all seasons. Even nowadays, in some central villages of Iran, people use giveh.
In this picture you see an old man making giveh in his shop at the traditional bazzar of Shahreza-one of the old cities of Isfahan-in Iran.
