At the Bakery
Posted by Soodabeh (Yazd, Iran) on 10 May 2007 in Cityscape & Urban and Portfolio.
This is a different bakery shop. Non iranian people may have never seen bakery shop like this!
In this bakery the baker bakes a flatbread names "Sangak".
Sangak is a plain, rectangular or triangular, blanket-like Persian flatbread. 'Sang' in Persian means stone or pebble and sangak means related to sang. This bread is traditionally baked on river stones (hence the name), and is occasionally topped with sesame seeds.
So delicious especially with hot Kabab!
This baker was so eager to be in my photo and surprised by the photography!!
Tehran, Roodaki Street.
